In this phase, trainees will learn the fundamental principles and knowledge of echocardiography. They will attend online lectures and activities. This phase also includes periodic quizzes and lengthy exams to assess their understanding of the material.

Module 5. Learning the M-Mode.

Module 6. Basic Principles of Doppler Study: The Spectral Doppler.

Module 7. Basic Principles of Doppler Study: The Color Flow Doppler.

Module 8. Two-Dimensional Echocardiographic Measurements and Calculations.

Module 9. The Left Ventricular Anatomy, Imaging and Assessment of Systolic and Diastolic Functions.

Module 10. The Right Ventricular Anatomy, Imaging and Assessment of Systolic Function.

Module 11. The Anatomy, Imaging and Assessment of the Left and Right Atria.

Module 12. Anatomy and Physiology of the Mitral Valve, Imaging and Assessment of Mitral Stenosis and Regurgitation.
